First, I have to tell you I've felt musically dead for months, until very recently. I hadn't stood up to play guitar since The Cursed performed in NYC (in May of 2007) until myself, Ron Lipnicki and Alan Tecchio jammed cover songs with Mark and John from TalkingMetal.com a couple times. Not sure where that's going, but it is FUN. After not being able or caring to write any new riffs for MONTHS, I recorded last night at Crystal Studios. I have an offer to release a "Best of" my 3 solo cds, and I wanted to record some new material to get psyched. I recorded a pseudo dance version of Kiss' Sweet Pain, and a heavy, sort of industrial type piece of music I'm calling "Political Pigs" for the cd opener. It was so much fun, I was inspired to write 2 brand new riffs last night that just kicked my ass and make me want to...or, I should say NEED TO- jam them with somebody.
Also, after getting the run around from some German DVD releasing dude, I finally nailed down a deal with Cruz Del Sur Music in Italia for the first ever live DVD release for Hades. It features perhaps our best show ever-live in Boston from December 1988 when we opened for Manowar and Nuclear Assault. Songs include, Opinionate!, The Leaders?, Diplomatic Immunity and Nightstalker. The DVD will also include "Behind The Metal" an hour long Hades documentary put together by my buddy Jay Bones when we were recording The Downside cd for Metal Blade. It has interviews, old live footage, television appearances, and is very cool.
