After we recorded the green ep and played some shows Dan Nastasi joined Murphy's Law. I wasn't sure if I wanted to be in a serious
band. Scott Koenig from Rush management loved my newest tape (Never released) and the name of the band , but didn't really like Nastasi's voice. I talked with Alan and convinced him (He was leaning that way any
way) to come back to NJ to sing for NF. Jimmy Schulman came in on bass, but it was the same old problems. Jimmy moved to slow for me, was late for everything, and didn't pick up my riffs quick enough. So Kevin
Bolembach joined, and he. Alan, Mike Cristi, and myself recorded a demo of 9 songs. Rush said they would pay for it. They didn't. We said goodbye to Rush and started negotiating on our own. RoadRunner wanted us,
but would not give us all our publishing. This is why all your favorite Roadrunner bands live at home with their parents. This is also why we signed with Grand Slamm. They payed the studio, plus as part of the
deal we got to record one more song (Aged) and put out the demo as Preface. We went to #1 on WSOU and drew some great crowds at Studio One in Newark, The Limelight in NYC, and later the Birch Hill in Old Bridge.
We even went on a 3 week US tour...headlining, which we had no business doing, we were just so hungry for the road. The tour started in Ct. right after that show at 4a.m. we left in the snow and drove straight
to Florida. We played a couple shows in FLA. then went to Texas. We had a great show in Houston (If I remember correctly we finished writing "First and Lasting Impressions" in soundcheck) then a couple
shows in Austin, drove to Albuquerque ( for no reason, the show was cancelled) then a great show in Denver. The tour was over, we were broke, had no money for hotels, and we drove home 36hours straight. We payed
some East Coast shows and started writing 'In The Know"
