After we came home from the European tour with Overkill we drew smaller crowds. Freaked us out. We started writing some great new
material.I was sick of being poor, so I got a job selling advertising for Steppin' Out Magazine. I knew this could mean the end of my touring days, because I loved working there, and I really loved having money
for food. Then I got a girlfriend who became my fiance then my wife and by the time It's A Wonderful Lie came out I sold all my equipment.Heres my side of the story( Ask Alan, Kevin, and Mike for their version).
We recorded a blistering demo ( Which Alan and I eventually released as a U.S. version) but nobody cared. We got a little deal in Europe with SPV.I wanted to release the demo, but I was outvoted. We drove up to
Utica to rerecord the songs and I get to the studio and I notice Alan has stopped talking to me. I missed my girlfriend, we tried to sleep on the pool tables ( Mike and I eventually got rooms at one of those
hooker hotels) , it sucked. We wake up exhausted,grouchy,....not in a great frame of mind to start a record. Mike played less than his best, I walked through the songs ( I had already recorded most of these
songs on the demo, and there is NEVER more energy the second time you record songs) the bass didn't match up very well with the guitar.....please buy the U.S. version with the writing on the cover and our
pictures on the back cover...I'm getting depressed just thinking back to the SPV version. We played a couple shows and called it quits in I think 1994. We did a awesome reunion show on Oct. 9 1999.
